With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lizzie Mae Wheeler (Camilla, Georgia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 5, 2024 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Morris Bell and Thelma Jones; her siblings, Jerome Bell, May Day Jones, Jr., Joseph Jones and Rosie Mae Brown; and her husband Johnny Claude Wheeler.
She is survived by: her children, Teresa Jones (Jack) of Stafford, Latosha Wheeler (Craig) of Tampa, Travis Wheeler (Tonya) of Pelham and Jason Wheeler (Joynetta) of Ochlocknee, Georgia; her siblings, J. W. Jones of Ruskin, Larry Walker (Cynthia) of Thomasville, Melvin Jones (Shirley) of Albany, Willie Mae Jones of Pelham and Jimmie Jones (Mary) of Chesapeake, Virginia; her siblings-in-law, Jimmie Wheeler (Carolyn) of Moultrie, Freddie Wheeler (Gwen) of Camilla, Howard Wheeler (Angela), James Wheeler (Sheree) of Albany, Georgia, Vila Atkins (Johnny), Malinda Shinard (Cleo), Lynette Spence of Albany and Hattie Drakes (Carl) of Camilla, Georgia; and also Patricia Spence of Pelham, Georgia.. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Robert Jester Mortuary (107 Lincoln St, Camilla, GA 31730). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church (4294 New Hope Rd, Pelham, GA 31779). A burial was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at the Pelham Memorial Gardens (4294 New Hope Rd, Pelham, GA 31779).
