He is survived by: his wife Betty Tyus Gaines of Camilla; his daughter Monica Gaines Carlton (Mike) of Macclenny, FL; his grandchildren, Amanda Carlton, Brian Carlton (Julia), Jessica Gaines Owens (Jamie), Joseph Gaines II (Hilary) and Shanna Boyer; and his great grandchildren, Thomas Boyer, Tabitha Boyer, Larkin Milner, Addie Kate Milner, Rett Gaines, Wilder Gaines, Ashton Coop and Madison Coop.
