He was predeceased by: his siblings, Frank Toombs, Theodore Toombs, Liz Toombs, Joseph Toombs (Honeychild), Eliza Kelly and Carrie Mae Sampson.

He is survived by: his wife Lucile Toombs of Camilla, Georgia; his children, Jetson Toombs, Jr. (Gloria) of Augusta, Virginia Quimbley (late Otis Larry) of Camilla and Julia A. Toombs of Camilla, Georgia; and his grandchildren, Antonio Pinkins (Shaletha) of Spartanburg, Shakendra Toombs of Austell, Tory Quimbley (Abby) of Jacksonville, Travis Quimbley of Camilla and Dr. Sheneé Toombs of Silver Spring, Maryland. He is also survived by several great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
