He was predeceased by: his parents, A. J. Powell and Mary Powell; and his brother-in-law Jody Slocum. He is survived by: his wife Deidra Powell of Valdosta; his daughters, Jessica Powell of Camilla, Erica (Cole Grier) and Elizabeth (Parker Albright); his stepchildren, Nicholas White and Isabella White of Valdosta; his grandson John Parker Albright of Marietta; and his sisters, Beth Slocum of Cordele and Lisa (Tim McEachern).
