He was predeceased by: his parents, Narvie Edwin Hicks and Ora Bearden Hicks; and his siblings, Lloyd Hicks, Emory Hicks and Jeanelle Dean.
He is survived by: his wife Clara Hicks; his sons, Jerry Hicks, Michael (Regina Hicks) and Bruce (Shea Hicks); his grandchildren, Whitney, Greg Long, Cpt. Andrew, Amy Hicks, Leia Mitchell, Lana, Chris Cowart, Tyler Hicks and Emalie Hicks; his great grandchildren, Karli Cowart, Amberly Cowart, Wyatt Long, Waylon Long and Owen Hicks; and his brother Lonzo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
