Wanda Ann Fricks Obituary

Mrs. Wanda Ann Fricks, age 75, of Calhoun, GA, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Fricks was born in Floyd County, GA on May 2, 1947, daughter of the late Woodrow A. Ensley and the late Annie Bell Jackson Ensley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Alfred Fricks, Sr., by a son, Daniel Avis, and by 3 siblings, Thomas Avis, Barbara Stewart and General Lamar "Sonny" Ensley. Mrs. Fricks worked for Burger King for 27 years, having been the manager of locations in Amelia Island, Calhoun, and on Shorter Ave. in Rome. She also worked at Evco Plastics in Calhoun, Berry College in Rome and at Grand Stanz in Calhoun. Mrs. Fricks loved to travel and her happy place was on Amelia Island where she loved the beach. She was an avid Braves fan and watching game shows when the Braves weren't playing. Mrs. Fricks loved her grands and great-grands and would do anything she could for each and every one. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

Survivors include 3 children, Veronica Fricks, Calhoun, Suzette Caylor (Alex), Calhoun, and George Alfred "Al" Fricks, Jr. (Elly), Ellijay; her sister, Diane Roberson; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Fricks will be cremated and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 4pm on Thursday, July 7, 2022, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. The Rev. John Huffman will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 2pm until 4pm on Thursday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
