He was predeceased by: his father William Howley; and his brother Jerry Doolittle. He is survived by: his wife Myrle Noble Doolittle; his daughters, Kristin Brooks (Jeff), Judy Davis Folsom (Mike), Cynthia Davis Rogers (David), Lisa Davis Bullock (Brad) and Janet Davis Schroeder; and his sister Ellen Townsley (Jim). He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
