He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Brooks and Jennie Pickens Brooks; his wife Ola Mae Stanley Brooks; his granddaughter Brittany Mincey; and his brother Johnny Brooks.
He is survived by: his daughter Cindy; his son-in-law Don Mincey of Calhoun; his grandchildren, Brandi Homs (Josh) and Derrick Mincey (Chantal); his great grandchildren, Jacob Homs, Kendall Homs, Carter Homs, Drew Mincey, Trinity Mincey, Dalayna Mincey, Dalylah Mincey, Kylah Tuttle and Stephanie Tuttle; his brothers, Harley Brooks and Olan Brooks (Dianne); and his close friend Grace Walker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
