He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hartley and Salley Lewallen Hartley; his wife Linda Franks Hartley; his son Robert James Hartley; his grandson Justin Cain; his siblings, Gene Hartley, Joyce Hartley, Annie Ruth Fraier and Frances Hartley; and his son-in-law Thomas Chester.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher "Luke" Hartley of Calhoun, GA, Ginger Chester of Calhoun, GA and Melissa (Leonard Grigsby); his sister Betty Berrong of Tunnel Hill, GA; his grandchildren, Casey Cain, Thomas Cain, Stephanie Hartley, Keith Hartley, Brett Hartley and Cierra Brown; and his great grandchild Harper. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
