He was predeceased by: his father Robert Harlan Abbott; and his stepdaughter-in-law Tammy Burchett. He is survived by: his mother Inez Hines Russell; his stepchildren, Patrick Burchett, Doug Burchett and Jennifer Morris; his sister Marlene Thomas (Russell); his grandchildren, Caidan, Tanner, Tara, Tyler Abbott, David Pryor, Dennis Haney, Mark Haney and Alyssia Haney; and his nieces and nephews, Lance Thomas, Stephanie Krivsky and Casey Thomas.
