He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Patterson, Sr. and Della Long Patterson; and his siblings, Eugene Patterson, Willard Patterson, Lewis Patterson, Jr., Loreen Patterson Stevenson, Ellene Patterson Keener, Kathryn Patterson Stevenson, Roszene Patterson Mathis and Rosalee Patterson Thigpen.
He is survived by: his wife Hazel Watters Patterson; and his sister JoAnn Patterson Nash. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
