He was predeceased by: his parents, James Owens Patterson and Thelma Thurman Patterson; his wife Rheba Jo Patterson; and his grandchildren, Cody Warren and Marianna Ray.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Patterson (Robin), Kathy Ray (Greg) and Patty Talley (Keith). He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren.
