She was predeceased by: her parents, McRae Lance and Ruby Lance; and her sister Gail Lance Stokes. She is survived by: her husband Byron Abernathy; her daughters, Brooklin Danielle Abernathy and Kerrie Lee Bailey; her sister Melba Lance Sisson (Kenneth); her nieces and nephews, Anita Rhoden (Edward), Jill Hegwood (Terry), Kelly Stansell and Rodney Stokes (Shea); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Tiffany Hill (Zach), Brandon Blalock (Brandy), Patrick Cannon (Ashley), Collin Stoner (Chris), Grant Hegwood (Skylar), Mia Stokes and Sophia Stokes; her aunts, Carolyn Sloan, Leona Pankey and Faye Lance; her uncle Franklin Lance; and also, Evelyn Mae Hill and Allison Cannon.
