He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Ellis and Bessie Holcomb Ellis; and his sister Carol Stansbury (Richard). He is survived by: his wife Sondra Windom Ellis of Calhoun, GA; his children, James Larry "Jim" Ellis, Jr. of Adairsville, GA and Joy Ellis Petty (James) of Calhoun, GA; his brother Carl Ellis (Dorlores) of Ringgold, GA; and his grandchildren, Jessica DeLange (Riley), Josh Ellis, Jacob Ellis (Monica), Jarrett Ellis (Jordan) and Harmony Waldrop (Leo). He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
