He was predeceased by: his parent Thurston Davenport; his wife Mary Ruth Parker Davenport; and his siblings, Ashley Davenport, Herman Davenport, Viola, Mattie, Edith and Stella.

He is survived by: his parent Bonnie Davenport; his children-in-law, George Davenport, Jr. of Richmond, VA, Carolyn Grune, Ed Grune of Mansfield, TX, Susan Williams and Bob Williams of Calhoun, GA; his brother William Davenport of Annapolis, MD; his grandchildren, Greg, Lisa, Julie, Eddie and Ruth; his great grandchildren, Rafe Tilghman, Ean Tilghman, Kay Tilghman and Luther Tilghman; and also, Donny Davenport and Winny Davenport of Silver Springs, MD.
