He was predeceased by: his wife Kathy McDaniel; his sister Shirley Blalock; and his parents, S. E. McDaniel and Mary Fontanez. He is survived by: his son Steven Hazen; his stepson Jeffery Butt of Florida; his brother S. E. McDaniel Jr.; his sister-in-law Becky McDaniel of Piedmont, AL; his sisters, Kathy (Urick Alldredge) and Carrie Tant of Calhoun; and his grandchildren, Josh, Jason, Jasmine, Madison and Tegan.
