He was predeceased by: his parents, Selma Lane Hawkins and Beatrice Farmer Hawkins; his grandson Matthew Ryan Parmer; his siblings, Walter Melton Hawkins and Frances Hawkins Kirby; and his brothers-in-law, Edward Duvall, Bradley Pelfrey and Garvin Kirby.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Carden Hawkins; his children, Kristina Hawkins Parmer (Marty), Cynthia Hawkins (Ken Tarpley) and Darryl Hawkins (Cara); his granddaughters, Emily Parmer Clance (Ryan), Carrie Hawkins and Ella Hawkins (AJ Hayes); his granddaughter-in-law Leigh Bird Parmer; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Charles, Gabriel and Emmett Parmer; and his sister Lyndell Duvall Pelfrey. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
