He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter G. Smith and Mary Carwile Smith. He is survived by: his wife Betty Spears Smith; his children, Nathan Smith (Suzanne) and Maresha Bagwell (Johnny); and his grandchildren, Sierra Bagwell, Makenna Bagwell and Kate Phillips.
