He is survived by: his wife Reta Curtis Hawkins of Calhoun, Georgia; his sister Martha Hawkins Shaw; his uncle Hiram Hawkins (Linda); his nieces and nephews, Wendy Wise (Henry), Devi Prather (Gerald), Chiquita Douglas and Rhonda Russell (Steve); and his close friend Velix Benjamin. He is also survived by several great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives.
