He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas C. Brown, Sr. and Atha Lee Bishop Brown; his siblings, Willard Brown, Curtis Brown, Aris Brown and Lela Bell Busby; and his stepson James Bradford Bodrey.
He is survived by: his close friend H. L. Layfield, Jr.; his children, Sheriel Brown Barrett, Carolyn Brown and Terry Brown; the mother of his children Libby Brown; his stepchildren, Wanda Layfield and Margline Thomas; and his sisters, Sandra Faye Reagan (Bert), Teresa Brown Lawson and Peggy Sellars. He is also survived by several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
