He is survived by: his wife Angel Vance; his children, William Vere Vance, IV of Roberta and Deborah Vance of Roberta; his stepdaughter Erin Alford-Harmon of Warner Robins; his grandchildren, William Vance, Ashley Vance and Asher Harmon; his mother Helen Vance of North Carolina; and his sister Gail Vance of North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made for his widow.
