He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Glenmore Gassett and Mamie Lee Gassett; his siblings, Herman Gassett, Leroy Gassett and Judy Layfield; and his granddaughter Morgan Anne Dockery.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Dockery (Brent), Malcolm Lee Gassett (Kaylie) and Traci Bass (Daniel); his grandchildren, Dalton Dockery, Garrett Dockery and Carol Anne Bass; and his sisters, Ruth Giles (Leonard), Tiny Absher (Frank), Betty Dixon, Christine Robertson, Gladys Pennington (Phil) and Carol Taylor. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
