He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sylvester Averill, Jr. and Lula Moore Hester Averill; and his friends, Robert Peavy and Colonel John Baker. He is survived by: his wife Sally Saliba Averill of Byromville; his children, John M. Averill, Jr. of Byromville and Julianna Averill Brannen of Byromville; and his grandchildren, John M. Averill, III (Jenn) of Byromville, Jared Averill (Lea) of Byromville, Clinton B. Brannen, IV (Rachel) of Sharpsburg and Sarah-Averill Brannen of Byromville. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
