We are sad to announce that on January 19, 2024, at the age of 75, Katie Lawhorn of Butler, Georgia, born in Lyerly, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Battles and Girtha Battles; her husband Billy Lawhorn; her sons, Carl, Mike Walker and Troy Taunton; and her siblings, Charles, Larry Battles and Barbara Herod.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Gockman (James) of Butler, Brian Lawhorn (Heather) of Butler, Kelly Welch of Butler and Dana Taunton of Shiloh; and her siblings, Jo Pate, Frances Boggs, Thelma Day (Jake) and Buddy Battles. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
