He was predeceased by: his parents, Gardner Pye and Marion Watson Pye. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Pye of Butler; his children, Walter Pye (Betsy) of Butler and Carlotta Harvey (Bryan) of Springfield, Missouri; his sister Carlotta Cochran (Tom) of Fairfax, Virginia; and his grandchildren, Christi Williams, Nikki Cobb, Jessica Greene, Amy Anderson, Reeves Harvey and Kirksey Harvey. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice.
