He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlene Phillips Rice and Percy Richards Jr.; his stepparents, Johnnie Phillips Sr. and Helen Richards; and his siblings, Brian Richards, Steven Phillips, Robert Phillips, Stephon Rice, Dr. Charles Banks Jr., Karen Phillips Robertson and Nancy Phillips.

He is survived by: his wife Pat Rosser Richards; his children, Malcus Dwayne Richards II (Audrey), Mario Richards (Ebony) and Maya Richards; his grandsons, Malachi Richards, Kamari Peterson and Mario Richards Jr. (MJ); his siblings, Johnnie Phillips, Eric Phillips, John Dirk Phillips (Lisa), Percy Richards III, Namon Robertson, Andrew Jones, Brent Tucker, Eshe Faizah, Kym Kelley (Anthony), Sandra Balogun (Hameed), Jennifer Phillips, Lynette McKinney, Dana Banks, Cecelia Hughes (Shawn) and Felice Rosser (Finley); his stepmother Cynthia Richards; and his father-in-law Arthur George Rosser. He is also survived by uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel (5051 Peachtree Industrial Blvd, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092). A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.

“So sorry to hear this news. Malcus and Pat were the absolute best parents when I coached our Cagers 3rd grade basketball team where Maya and my daughter Jojo played. He was always willing to jump in and help me out. Years later they would see me at the high school games when they played South Forsyth and were the first ones to give me a hug and introduce me to their friends. Malcus and Pat were always leading by good example. Rest in peace - The Clark Family”
