He was predeceased by: his mother Judith Ann Thedinga; and his brother John Steven. He is survived by: his father James "Mengo" Mengwasser (Chamblee); his siblings, Judith Marie and Jeffrey Allen (Amanda Mengwasser); his wife Sally Mengwasser of Buford; his children, Ashley Mengwasser (Canton) and Jim Mengwasser (Buford); and his siblings, Judy Collins (Shane Murphy), Andy (Stephanie Ulrich) and Donna Eggleston (James Keever). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Remembrances can be made in Jim's honor through contributions to the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia.
