He was predeceased by: his parents, James T. Miller, Jr. and Alma Stewart Miller; his former wife Roylene Pope Miller; his son Richard L. Miller; his brothers, Lewis Miller and Andy Miller; and his nephew James S. Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Shaffer Miller; his siblings, Carolyn Kidwell (Ron) of Charlotte, NC, Sandy Sindell (John) of Rock Hill, SC and Thomas Miller of Covington, GA; and his stepson Mark Shaffer of Athens, GA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
