It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jodie Lee Shoemaker of Buchanan, Georgia, who passed away on January 17, 2024, at the age of 54, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gloria Dover Hyatt and Ronald Eugene Shoemaker; his brother Donald Lamar Shoemaker; and his granddaughter Jasmine Hudgins. He is survived by: his children, Joey Shoemaker of Buchanan, Jessica Leann Nguyen (Shelby) of Buchanan and Brittany Dorsey (Trey Hudgins) of Tallapoosa; his sister Teresa Prater (Lewis) of Buchanan; his grandchildren, Haylee Shoemaker, Kyrie Hudgins, Justice Nguyen and Riot Nguyen; his nephews, Ricky Hyatt and John Cooper; and his niece Keshia Holcombe. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews and other family members.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to help with funeral costs.
