He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Linton Posey and Margie Christine Shepard Posey; his daughter Susan Posey; his grandson Dakota Sanders; and his siblings, Peggy Posey and Linton Posey.
He is survived by: his wife Vickie Teal Posey; his children, Gerald Posey, Jr. of Stockbridge, Brent Posey of Buchanan and Lindsay Posey of Mt. Zion; his siblings, Margie Posey of Buchanan, Cathy Cox (Jon) of South Georgia and Paul Posey of Buchanan; and his grandchildren, Kameron Reid, Jessica Posey and Brianna Posey. He is also survived by his family and was a proud father and grandfather.
