It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Genie Reeves McGarvey of Brunswick, Georgia, who passed away on June 29, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her sisters, Martha Kieffer and Mary Sudlow; her parents, Roy Randall Reeves and Ruth Alice Burson Reeves; and also Murray Patrick McGarvey.
She is survived by: her brother George Reeves (Helga) of Thomson; her son Kevin McGarvey (Kathryn) of St. Simons Island; her grandchildren, Griffin, Adalena McGarvey (The Little People), Parker (Sparky), Lillian, Madisen and Grace; her great grandchildren, Liam, Chase and Lylah; her nephews, Mahlon Kieffer, Randy Reeves, Bill Sudlow and Michael Reeves; her great-nephew James Michael Reeves; and also Cormac Murray McGarvey, Jr. of St. Simons Island. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Despite her love of flowers, Genie requested that memorials instead be made to The Murray P. McGarvey '94 Scholarship Fund, The Citadel Foundation, 171 Moultrie Street, Charleston, SC 29409-6230.
