Shirley left this world on December 28, 2024 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Hildreth and Margaret Hildreth; and her husband J. H. Trowell. She is survived by: her son Joey Trowell (Dannette) of Broxton, GA; her grandchildren, Yuvonne Zigler (Jared) of Nicholls, GA, Terri Trowell of Valdosta, GA, Jeb Jordan of Douglas, GA and Josh Jordan of Douglas, GA; her great grandchildren, Jack Jordan, Brody Zigler, Colt Zigler and Olivia Trowell; her sisters, Frances Wagoner of New York and Fannie Long of North Carolina, One; and her sister-in-law Juanita Kuchler of North Carolina. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Sims Funeral Home (201 N Peterson Ave, Douglas, GA 31533). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Reedy Branch Baptist Church (96 Boxwood, Broxton, GA 31519).
