He is survived by: his wife Wanda Merritt of Broxton, GA; his children, Jason Merritt (Pamela) of Ambrose, GA, Daniel Merritt (April) of Broxton, GA, Ben Merritt (Wendi) of Athens, GA and Candice Hester (Jason) of Broxton, GA; his grandchildren, Grady Hester, Emily Hester, Shelby Hester and Dustin Merritt; and his brother Roy Merritt (Lisa) of Broxton, GA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Sims Funeral Home (201 N Peterson Ave, Douglas, GA 31533). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Broxton Church of God (1041 N Alabama St, Broxton, GA 31519).
