He is survived by: his wife Lavanda Ivie Gibbs; his mother Carolyn Haynes Gibbs; his children, Chris Gibbs (Rebecca) and Shana Shellnutt; his grandchildren, Jordan Bivens (Leanna), Madalyn Gibbs and Cera Beth Brown; his great grandchildren, Pryarly Bivens, Luna Mae McTigue and Luke McTigue; and his siblings, John Shellnutt (Michelle), Bill Swink (Dawn), Cody Gibbs, Michael Gibbs (Lori), Jancie Shellnutt Wilson, Georgia Swink Barrett (Paul) and Lisa Gibbs Lopez (Chris). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, numerous friends, neighbors, and other family members.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mowell Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Fayetteville (180 N Jeff Davis Dr, Fayetteville, GA 30214). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Providence Church (592 Bernhard Rd, Fayetteville, GA 30215).
