He was predeceased by: his parents, Lannie Eldridge Knight and Lottie McElveen Knight; and his siblings, Raymond Knight, Calhoun Knight, Clyde Knight and Esther Mae Lee.

He is survived by: his children, Sandy (Rick McKillip), Charles Lindy Knight, Jr. (Niki), Lawana (John Harbin), Richard R. (Anita Knight) and Sarah (Trey Mundy); his siblings, Gloria Taylor of Brooklet and Willie; and his sister-in-law Gale Knight of Brooklet. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
