He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thomas Hendley and Annie Vaughn Hendley; and his siblings, Robert Hendley, Vernon Hendley, Lena Mae Hendley Rowan, Gladys Hendley Nix and Ruby Hendley Roberts.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Mainor Hendley; his sister-in-law Barbara Hendley (Vernon) of Augusta, Georgia; his children, Linda "Kitty" Bradshaw (Steve) of Flowery Branch, Georgia, Howard Hendley (Sharon) and Chris Hendley (Ragan Pollock) of Pelham, Georgia; his grandchildren, Kelly Gerstenhaber (Jay), Andrew Lewis, Elizabeth Ott (Ryan), Holden Hendley (Jessica) and Adam Hendley; his great grandchildren, Jacob Shelton, McKenna Holmes, Colleen Ott, Cassidy Ott and Emily Ott; his great great grandchild Hendley Shelton; and his daughter-in-law Susan Spencer Hendley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
