We are sad to announce that on April 26, 2020, at the age of 91, Dorothy E. Bates (Braselton, Georgia), born in Salesville, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, C. Howard Ankrom of Cambridge and Ida J. Ankrom (Casterline) of Cambridge; her former husband Richard G. Carter; her husband William Bates (Kenny); and her daughter Melinda Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Smith (Gerald) of Braselton and Allen Bates (Dea) of Burlington, IA; and her grandchildren, Kevin Smith, Nappanee, Kristin Lockaby (Michael), Jennifer Bates, Julie Griffith and Jody Starr (Brian). She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers Dorothy has requested donations be made to her favorite charity Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, P.O. Box 567, Kanab, UT 84741-0567.
