He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Cole and Julia Bell Cole; his brother George Cole (Duggan); and his brother-in-law Bill Conley. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Cole; his children, Melinda, Rhett Newton, Marc, Emily Cole of Bowdon, Sharon Butler, Gwen Cole and Steve Cole of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Brady Cole, Kennedi Newton, Karsyn Cole and Easton Cole; and his sisters, Sue Conley, Martha Linblad (Mike) and Pat Floyd (Gene).
