He was predeceased by: his father Ohmer Hightower; his wife Barbara Inman Hightower; and his daughter-in-law Pamela Hightower. He is survived by: his son Joseph; his daughter-in-law Janet Hightower; his grandsons, Noah Hightower and Michael Beau Brooks; his stepgrandchildren, Austin Sullivan and Allison Sullivan; his sister Elaine; and his brother-in-law Jimmy Chambers.
