He is survived by: his wife June Barwick Taliaferro; his sons, Jared Carter (Ashley), Luke Carter (Morgan) and Nick Taliaferro; his grandchildren, Sam Carter, Aubrey Carter, Hayes Carter, Axie Carter and Emerson Carter; his sister Liz Blackburn (Don); his nieces and nephews, Sydni Barwick, Abi Barwick, Brad Blackburn and Colby Blackburn; and his brothers-in-law, Hubert Barwick (Lisha) and Randy Barwick (Dara).
