She was predeceased by: her father Jessie Lewis Cox; her former husband Hubert Mercer; her husband Ralph Donald Newton; her daughter Terrie Peeples; and her brothers, Clifton Cox and Ronald Cox.
She is survived by: her children, Tim Mercer of Boston, GA, Connie Mercer of Boston, GA and Bruce Mercer of Dallas, GA; her grandchildren, Stacey Davenport of Boston, GA, Claye Davis (Leonard) of Cartersville, GA, Rob Mercer (Kristian) of Blackshear, GA, Jason Mercer of Cairo, GA and Kolby Mercer of McDonough, GA; and her brothers, Doug Cox (Nancy) of Snellville, GA and Dennis Cox of Texarkana, TX.. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren.
