It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert Edd Vanderhoef (Bonaire, Georgia), born in Wadena, Minnesota, who passed away on December 28, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edd Vanderhoef and Blanche Vanderhoef; his former wife Carolyn Henderson Vanderhoef; his son Alton Randall Vanderhoef; and his sister Evelyn Vanderhoef.

He is survived by: his wife Anne Vanderhoef; and his children, Barbara Kimball of Warner Robins, Lori Dalton of Bonaire, Michael Vanderhoef of California, Alan Bruce of Ocala, Luann Causey of Warner Robins and Russell Bruce of Brevard, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Robert Vanderhoef to The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research at P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or First United Methodist Church Food Pantry at 205 N. Davis Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31093.

“I married his son Alton (Randy) Vanderhoef in 1985. We had twin sons 1 year later. Bob was like a father to me. He was the kindest and most thoughtful man I have ever known. He was the best father that Randy could ever ask for and a great grandfather for his grandsons. When Randy died, Bob helped me with the final arrangements. We kept in contact via text and phone. We would send photos to one another. He will be so missed. My condolences go out to his family.”
