He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Lovell and Helen Fields (Rowley); and his sister Patsy Hardway. He is survived by: his wife Mary Carol Fields (Waters) of Bonaire, GA; his children, Rebecca Richards (Timothy) of Bonaire, GA, Jeff Fields (Andra) of Windsor, MO and Tracie Boyette (Shannon) of Bossier City, LA; and his siblings, Hayes Fields (Barbara) of Portland, TN, Roger Fields (Carol) of Charleston, WV, Jimmy Fields (Diane) of Florida, David Fields (Carolyn) of Greenville, SC and Kathy Beal (Clinton) of Poca, WV.. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
