He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward McDowell, Sr. and Margaret Brown McDowell; his son Edward D. "Teddy" McDowell, III; and his brother Garnet McDowell. He is survived by: his wife Jean McDowell of Bonaire; his children, Stacy McDowell-Black of Cleveland, Melanie Pratt (Randy) of Bonaire and Terence "Terry" McDowell (Leslie) of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Tiffany, Christopher, Cody, Ashley, Rachel, Lauren, Lindsay, Sara and Brent; and his great grandchildren, Tanner, Kaylin, Harper Mae, Teddy, River, Shepherd and Callum.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the McCullough Funeral Home (417 S Houston Lake Rd, Warner Robins, GA 31088). He was an active volunteer, generously donating his time and skills to various organizations.
