It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Mae Johnson of Blythe, Georgia, who passed away on October 12, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Taylor and Ollie Taylor; her husband Ruffas Andrew Johnson; and her siblings, Merlon Taylor, Jim Taylor, Wesley Taylor, Cecil Tanner, Margie Meeks and Eulla Mae Meeks.
She is survived by: her children, James A. Johnson (Jean Cravey) of Blythe Island, Darlene R. Wiggins, Denise Wendel (Steppard Green) of Brunswick, Diane Locklair (Andy) of Blythe Island, Debbie Timmons of Hortense and Donna Smith (Freddy) of Brunswick; and her sisters, Betty Jo Streat (Dewayne) and Eloise Tanner of Nicholls. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
