He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Chastain and Beulah Chastain; his wife Desma Chastain; his daughter Millie Ippilito; and his siblings, Pauline Chastain, Wilma Horton (Robert), Glen Chastain (Suda), Wendell Chastain (Marie), Mamie Hart (Ralph), Mozelle Anderson (James), Betty Shook (Bill) and Rev. Worth Chastain (Inez).
He is survived by: his children, Paula Chastain, Joel Chastain (Kathy) and Michael Paul Chastain; his grandchildren, Faith Lyons (Brian), Jeni Kaaber (Brad), Kaylee Evans (Grant), Joel Curtis Chastain, Jonathan Chastain, Ethan Chastain, Matthew Chastain and Jeremy Ippilito (Megan); his great grandchildren, Braden Kaaber, Lauren Kaaber, Bryce Kaaber, Dominic Evans, Vincent Evans, Risto Lyons, Anneli Lyons and Madison Ippilito; and his sister Alice Ratcliff. He is also survived by numerous nieces; nephews; family and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel (7871 Blue Ridge Dr, Blue Ridge, GA 30513). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
