He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Homer Collis and Bertha Mae Petty Collis; his brother Phillip Collis; and his parents-in-law, Helen and Walter Porter.

He is survived by: his wife Tammy Porter Collis; his children, Justin Patterson of Blue Ridge, Jessica Marie Dresch and Gracie King; his grandson Carter Dresch of Blue Ridge; his sister Cindi; his brother-in-law Danny Shinpaugh of Epworth; his nieces and nephews, Paul Collis, Chuck, Karen Collis, Neil, Rachael Collis, Jessica Shinpaugh, Jason Shinpaugh, Jessica Porter Franklin, Brandon, Renea Stepp, Greg and Kim Stepp; his siblings-in-law, Sherry Jarrard and Gary Porter; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Owen Stepp, Hudson Franklin and Aubree Franklin; his close friend Stacy Ensley; and his pets, Bella and Ginger.
