It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mels Carbonell of Blue Ridge, Georgia, born in Miami, Florida, who passed away on December 26, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his sons, Curt and Rob; his daughters-in-law, Rose and Alicia; his grandchildren, JD, Cael and Tailon; his nieces, Elaine and Vicky; and his nephew Scott.

“When Mels first came to St. Petersburg, he and Adrian lived at the old Florida Christian School grounds. I used to walk down and visit and went to Youth Ranch (which Mels ran). We had a lot of fun and made some great memories back then. He was unstoppable once he made his mind up on something and reaching folks with the Gospel of Jesus Christ was his mindset. I appreciate all he did in ministry for us as young people. We'll see him again in eternity. Jim Moorhouse”
