Marcie Mote Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marcie Mote of Blue Ridge, Georgia, who passed away on April 20, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Jack D. Munn. She is survived by: her husband Larry Mote; her mother Dot Munn Guice; her sons, Taylor Mote (Arielle) and Ben Mote (Vicky); her siblings, Doug Munn (Patty) and Nancy Munn Carter (Drew); and her grandchildren, Caleb Mote, Colton Mote, Logan Mote, Noa Mote and Adrian Mote. She is also survived by mother to her son's close friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (1520 Adeline St, Hattiesburg, MS 39401). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A reception will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel of Blue Ridge (3911 Appalachian Hwy, Blue Ridge, GA 30513).

“Larry. I am sending you prayers to heal your sorrow…..because I know this has been a difficult journey. The memories of my beautiful friend will be with me always. Marcie was the my buddy at work, and for our girls weekends at Lake Hartwell. Oh my goodness… the fun we had! She always brought such joy to every occasion, and to everyone around her. “My condolences to Larry and family. Marcie meant so much to me. She was one of the people that welcomed me early in life to BellSouth as a college co-op. She taught me a lot as her teaching skills were excellent. Our paths crossed at work/personal life for 34 years. She was such a role model. We had so many happy times.
