He was predeceased by: his parents, William Erving, Sr. and Lucy Dickey Hampton; his wife Joyce Culpepper Hampton; and his siblings, Robert, Marvin Hampton and Virginia Hampton Dyer.
He is survived by: his son Greg; his daughter-in-law Sharon Hampton of Blue Ridge, GA; and his grandchildren, Amber Hampton of Woodstock, GA. and Nathan Hampton of Woodstock, GA..
